Legacy Clay & Thread

The Living Archive of Hush Prosper Homestead

Legacy Clay & Thread is a heritage-driven, heirloom-grade art collection rooted in the soul of the Hush Prosper Homestead. Dedicated to my grandparents, Lorene and “Little” Benner Holman, and my mother, Lucy Jane Holman, this collection carries the story of our people — through clay, cloth, and word.

This is not just art. This is memory made tangible.

Legacy Clay & Thread brings together Black Americana ceramics, Southern folk pottery, and first-edition African-American literature. Each piece is hand-selected for its historical depth, cultural significance, and long-term value. These are functional artifacts — cookie jars, vessels, dolls, and books — that once lived in everyday Black homes. Now, they live here, in service to beauty, legacy, and lineage.

This collection is aesthetic, financial, and spiritual infrastructure. It supports the homestead’s mission by anchoring the past inside the present — turning daily life into ritual and heirloom.

These are not decorations. They are preservations.
They are assets.
They are offerings.

Every acquisition is professionally documented, appraised, and treated as part of a long-term cultural investment. Each one tells a story worth saving — and each one builds value across generations.

Legacy Clay & Thread is a tribute to the hands that shaped us.
To the ancestors who made something out of nothing.
To the makers, bakers, quilters, and storytellers whose quiet brilliance deserves to be seen, protected, and passed on.

This collection is our vow to never let that beauty be forgotten.
